Putting yourself first and prioritizing your own needs and well-being is an important aspect of self-care and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Let's consider the example to understand this concept better:


Going for a walk despite the possibility of rain:

In this scenario, you had planned to go for a walk, but you notice that it might rain. If you decide not to go for a walk solely because of the possibility of rain, you are compromising your own desire for physical activity and fresh air. By prioritizing the situation (rain) over yourself, you may miss out on the benefits of the walk and potentially compromise your own well-being.


Instead, if you value the benefits of a walk and believe it is important for your physical and mental health, you can choose to go for a walk anyway. You can adapt to the situation by wearing appropriate clothing or carrying an umbrella to protect yourself from the rain. By putting yourself first and making a decision based on what you want and need, you are taking care of yourself and practicing self-discipline.


Choosing between an evening walk and a T20 cricket match:

In this scenario, you have planned to go for an evening walk, but there is a T20 cricket match on TV. If you decide to skip the walk and watch the cricket match instead, you are compromising your own health and well-being for the sake of the situation (the match).


However, if you prioritize yourself and your commitment to a disciplined lifestyle, you can still go for the walk as planned. You can choose to watch the cricket match at another time or record it to watch later. By putting yourself first and sticking to your plan, you are showing dedication to your own goals and prioritizing your own needs.
